Pigs are raised throughout Victoria; the highest numbers in 2002-03 were in the Goulburn, Loddon, Wimmera and Mallee Statistical Divisions (SD). At 30 June 2003, the Victorian pig herd stood at 554,600.

At 30 June 2003, most pigs in Victoria were found in the Goulburn SD (121,300). This was followed by the Loddon SD with 120,100, the Wimmera SD with 113,800 and the Mallee SD with 111,600.
