OFFENCE TYPES

Of the 35,614 offences across all court levels, 88% were classified to four ASOC divisions; offences against justice procedures (42%); fraud and deception (31%); miscellaneous offences (8%) and abduction and harassment (7%).

The largest number of offences finalised in the Higher Courts related to fraud and deception (42%) followed by miscellaneous offences (21%) and illicit drugs (11%).

For the Magistrates' Courts, offences against justice procedures (44%) and fraud and deception (31%) were the most prevalent. Offences were spread over a larger number of ASOC divisions in the Children's Courts, with abduction and harassment offences the largest contributor (27%).
