Data Notes

Widespread flooding in the eastern states, particularly Queensland, and other recent natural disasters have not affected the quality of statistics in this release. These events occurred after, or very late, in the December quarter reference period and did not noticeably affect the overall level of construction activity for either national or state level estimates in the December quarter.

The trend estimates in this publication are affected by initiatives within the Government stimulus package and other developments associated with global economic conditions. For more details on trend estimates, please see paragraphs 28 to 30 of the explanatory notes.

ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY, AUSTRALIA, DECEMBER QTR 2010 (cat. no. 8762.0)

Compared with the current price estimates in original terms published in the previous issue of this publication:

  • The September quarter work done estimates have been revised down by $112.2m. These revisions occurred predominantly in the Roads, highways and subdivisions and Sewerage and Drainage commodities.

Data Notes

Widespread flooding in the eastern states, particularly Queensland, and other recent natural disasters have not affected the quality of statistics in this release.
