BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 0.3% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 7.4% to 11,501 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved was flat in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 3.9% to 7,518 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 0.8% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 15.5% to 3,815 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 1.1% in March after declining for 16 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.4% in March and has fallen for 11 months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 1.6% in March and has fallen for 8 months.
