The trend estimate for total dwelling units approved rose 1.9% in January 2010 and has risen for 12 months.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwelling units approved fell 7.0%, to 14,045 following rises in the previous four months.

PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES

The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.6% in January and has risen for 13 months.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.3%, to 9,630 and has risen for two months.

PRIVATE SECTOR OTHER DWELLINGS

The trend estimate for private sector other dwellings approved rose 1.6% in January and has risen for seven months.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector other dwellings approved fell 29.1%, to 2,880, following rises in the previous two months.
