DOMESTIC AUSTRALIAN TABLE WINE SALES TREND


TOTAL WHITE AND RED/ROSÉ TABLE WINE

The trend estimate for white table wine sales was 16.7 million litres which was 0.4% lower than November 2008. The trend estimate for red and rosé wine sales was 12.7 million litres which was 0.7% lower than last month.

TABLE WINE, GLASS CONTAINER LESS THAN 2 LITRES

The trend estimate for sales of white table wine in glass containers of less than 2 litres increased by 0.8% from last month, the seventh consecutive month of increase. The trend estimate for red and rosé wine sales in glass containers of less than 2 litres rose 1.3% from last month, the third consecutive monthly increase.

TABLE WINE, SOFT PACK CONTAINERS

The trend estimate for domestic sales of white table wine in soft packs fell 1.3% this month, the fourth consecutive decrease. The trend estimate for red and rosé wine sales in soft packs rose by 0.5% this month, the sixth consecutive monthly increase.
