The chart below shows the trend series and seasonally adjusted series to October 2015.

In current prices, the trend estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.3% in October 2015 following a rise of 0.3% in September 2015 and a rise of 0.3% in August 2015.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.5% in October 2015 following a rise of 0.4% in September 2015 and a rise of 0.4% in August 2015.

The original estimate for Australian turnover rose 6.0% in October 2015. The original estimate for chains and other larger retailers rose 7.4% in October 2015. The original estimate for smaller retailers rose 3.2% in October 2015.

TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE

The following states and territories rose in trend terms in October 2015: Victoria (0.6%), New South Wales (0.4%), Western Australia (0.3%), Queensland (0.1%), Tasmania (0.5%), South Australia (0.2%) and the Northern Territory (0.1%). The Australian Capital Territory (-0.1%) fell in trend terms in October 2015.

The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in October 2015: New South Wales (0.8%), Victoria (0.5%), Queensland (0.5%), South Australia (0.3%), Tasmania (0.8%), the Australian Capital Territory (0.6%) and the Northern Territory (0.2%). Western Australia (0.0%) was relatively unchanged in seasonally adjusted terms in October 2015.
