Pigs are raised throughout Victoria; the highest numbers are in the Loddon, Mallee, Wimmera and Goulburn Statistical Divisions (SDs). At 30 June 2004, the Victorian pig herd stood at 546,600.

At 30 June 2004, most pigs in Victoria were found in the Loddon SD (126,600). This was followed by the Mallee SD with 123,900, the Wimmera SD with 113,600 and the Goulburn SD with 100,500.
