In 2003-04, Victoria produced more tomatoes than any other state. In 2003-04, Victorian farmers produced 270,200 tonnes of tomatoes, ahead of Queensland (125,000 tonnes) and New South Wales (67,100 tonnes).

In 2003-04, 76% of all tomatoes produced in Victoria came from the Goulburn Statistical Division (204,400 tonnes) and 12% came from the Loddon Statistical Division (32,400 tonnes).
