WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

At the end of October 2009, there were 2.0 million tonnes of wheat grain committed for domestic use within Australia or for export, a decrease of 287 thousand tonnes from the previous month.

Of the total wheat grain committed, 1.3 million tonnes was contracted for export and 678 thousand tonnes for domestic use. Compared to this time last year, total wheat grain contracted for export was 85% (or 602 thousand tonnes) higher, and total wheat grain contracted for domestic use was 34% (or 346 thousand tonnes) lower.
