KEY POINTS

Gross value quarterly original movements for September 2016:
  • The gross value of pigs slaughtered stayed steady at $370 million for the September 2016 quarter increasing 1%, following a 9% increase in the June 2016 quarter.
  • After a 6% increase in gross value last quarter poultry dropped 5% in the September 2016 quarter to $672 million.
  • After decreasing 4% last quarter, sheep and lambs continued to decrease, dropping a further 5% to $767 million in the September 2016 quarter.
