CATTLE (EXCLUDING CALVES)

In the September quarter 2010, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) increased 2% to 1.9 million compared to the previous quarter.


CALVES

The number of calves slaughtered in the September quarter 2010 fell 11% to 196 thousand compared to the previous quarter.


SHEEP AND LAMBS

The number of sheep slaughtered in the September quarter 2010 decreased 4% to 1.5 million compared to the previous quarter. Lamb slaughterings increased 1% to 4.7 million.


PIGS

Pig slaughterings in the September quarter 2010 increased marginally to 1.2 million.
