CATTLE (EXCLUDING CALVES)

The trend estimate for the number of cattle (excluding calves) slaughtered remained steady for the June quarter 2008 at 2 million.


CALVES
Graph: Calves

The trend estimate for the number of calves slaughtered in the June quarter 2008 remained steady at 204 thousand.


SHEEP AND LAMBS
Graph: Sheep and Lambs

In the June quarter 2008, the trend estimate for the number of sheep slaughtered rose by 4% to 3.1 million. The trend estimate for the number of lambs slaughtered decreased by 4% for the June quarter 2008 to 5 million.


PIGS
Graph: Pigs

The trend estimate for the number of pigs slaughtered in the June quarter 2008 fell by 3% to below 1.3 million.
