In 2003-04, Victorian farmers produced 337,900 tonnes of potatoes, ahead of South Australia (330,700 tonnes) and Tasmania (327,600 tonnes).

In 2003-04, just over half of all potatoes produced in Victoria came from the Central Highlands Statistical Division (171,000 tonnes) and 18% came from the Gippsland Statistical Division (59,600 tonnes).
