AGGREGATE MONTHLY HOURS WORKED TREND ESTIMATES


FULL TIME

The trend estimate of full time aggregate monthly hours worked fell from 1,172 million hours in March 2000 to 1,143 million hours in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,337 million hours in July 2008, then falling to 1,293 million hours in July 2009, before rising to stand at 1,309 million hours in March 2010.

PART TIME

The trend estimate of part time aggregate monthly hours worked has steadily risen from 158 million hours in March 2000 to 231 million hours in March 2010.

TOTAL

The trend estimate of total aggregate monthly hours worked fell from 1,330 million hours in March 2000 to 1,315 million in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,552 million hours in July 2008 before falling to 1,515 million hours in June 2009. The trend has since risen to stand at 1,541 million hours in March 2010.
