AGGREGATE MONTHLY HOURS WORKED TREND ESTIMATES


FULL TIME

The trend estimate of full time aggregate monthly hours worked fell from 1,171 million hours in May 2000 to 1,143 million hours in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,336 million hours in July 2008, then fell to 1,292 million hours in July 2009, before rising to stand at 1,323 in May 2010.

PART TIME

The trend estimate of part time aggregate monthly hours worked has steadily risen from 159 million hours in May 2000 to 230 million hours in May 2010.

TOTAL

The trend estimate of total aggregate monthly hours worked fell from 1,330 million hours in May 2000 to 1,315 million hours in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,552 million hours in July 2008 before falling to 1,514 million hours in June 2009. The trend has since risen to stand at 1,553 million hours in May 2010.
