In 2002-03, Victoria produced more tomatoes than any other state. In 2002-03, Victorian farmers produced 210,800 tonnes of tomatoes, ahead of Queensland (94,000 tonnes) and New South Wales (47,800 tonnes).

In 2002-03, 85% of all tomatoes produced in Victoria came from the Goulburn Statistical Division (179,000 tonnes) and 11% came from the Loddon Statistical Division (24,000 tonnes).
