TAXATION PER CAPITA


In 2015-16, taxation per capita was $19,410, an increase of 2.8% from $18,887 in 2014-15.

The Commonwealth Government taxation per capita increased by 2.1% from $15,133 in 2014-15 to $15,450 in 2015-16.

The average taxation per capita for state and local governments combined in 2015-16 was $3,990, an increase of 5.4% from $3,785 in 2014-15.

6 of the 8 states and territories recorded an increase in taxation per capita from 2014-15 to 2015-16. The Australian Capital Territory recorded the highest percentage increase in taxation per capita, rising 12.3%. Northern Territory decreased by 12.4% over the same period..
