Revisions to merchandise trade data outside the normal revision period

The quantity of exports statistics for Australian Harmonized Export Commodity Classification (AHECC) code 44111410 (Medium density fibreboard [MDF] of wood or other ligneous materials, of a thickness exceeding 9 mm and of a density exceeding 0.8 grams per cubic centimetre, whether or not bonded with resins or other organic substances) on an international merchandise trade basis for the months of November 2013 to November 2014 inclusive will be revised in this issue of International Trade in Goods and Services, Australia (cat. no. 5368.0). These months are outside the normal revision period for international merchandise trade data.

The changes will not impact the statistics published in this publication but will impact the detailed export statistics at the 5-digit Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) and Australian Harmonized Export Commodity Classification (AHECC) levels available on request.


CHANGES IN FORTHCOMING ISSUES

Release of quantity information for exports of liquefied natural gas

Following a confidentiality review, quantity information for exports of liquefied natural gas (AHECC 27111100) will be released from the October 2015 issue of this publication and will extend back to July 2015. Additional analysis will be included in the Selected Commodities section of the Analysis and Comments. This change will not impact on time series spreadsheets in this publication, however, will impact on detailed export statistics at the AHECC level available on request.

Outcomes of the review of international accounts statistical outputs

From the January 2016 issue onwards, this publication will include one additional time series spreadsheet and two additional data cubes. The additional table (table 17) will present a summary of revisions for goods and services in original terms. The additional data cubes (tables 18 and 19) will include international merchandise imports for the last 7 months by country at the Balance of Payment Broad Economic Categories (BoPBEC) classification. These will be released at the detailed level and the 1 and 2 digit level respectively.
