AN IMPROVEMENT TO THE SEASONAL ADJUSTMENT METHODOLOGY FOR GOOD CREDITS AT CURRENT PRICES

An improvement to the seasonal adjustment methodology for goods credits at current prices has been introduced from July 1971 to June 1977. Previously goods credits were available only at the aggregate level on a monthly basis, while lower level data was available in the quarterly publication Balance of Payments and International Investment Position, Australia (cat. no. 5302.0). From this issue, data at the aggregate level has been assigned to lower level components to align with the quarterly publication. Total goods credits, in original terms, will be unaffected by these changes.
