Summary Comments

Compensation of employees (COE)
  • Total COE trend rose 1.7%, reflecting a rise of 1.2% in average earnings. Seasonally adjusted, COE rose 1.4%, reflecting a rise in average earnings of 0.4%. Seasonally adjusted, COE represented 54.7% of Total factor income.

Gross operating surplus (GOS)
  • Trend GOS for total corporations decreased -2.4%. Public non-financial corporations and Private non-financial corporations recording decreases of -4.9% and -0.6% respectively. In seasonally adjusted terms, GOS for total corporations fell -0.5%, offset by fiancial corporations with an increase of 0.8%. Seasonally adjusted, GOS of corporations represented 26.7% of total factor income.
