This product provides data on people who have participated in selected cultural activities including performing arts, singing or playing a musical instrument, dancing, writing, visual art activities and craft activities. It provides information about characteristics of participants, the number of selected cultural activities in which people participate, characteristics of selected cultural activities and payment that participants receive. Information about reasons for participation and barriers to participation are also included, as well as relevant standard demographic, labour force and other socio-economic details. A detailed list of data items is available on the Downloads tab.
The microdata enables users to tabulate, manipulate and analyse data. Steps to confidentialise the dataset are taken to ensure the integrity of data and maintain confidentiality of respondents. This includes removing any information that might uniquely identify an individual, reducing the level of detail for some items and collapsing some categories.
