This publication contains results from the Community Preparedness for Emergencies Survey conducted in Western Australia (WA) in October 2007. It presents information on the level of preparedness of the WA community if there was a large scale emergency such as a bushfire, flood, cyclone, earthquake or other hazardous event. Data items include whether anyone in household would need help getting out of the dwelling in an emergency, whether anyone in household has a role that may require them to assist in an emergency, whether household has water, food supplies, whether household has a working torch, portable radio and whether household has mobile phone(s), a landline phone or access to the internet.
