The June 1993 Child Care Survey CURF contains data on 13,490 children under 12 years of age obtained from the child's mother, father or another responsible adult in the household including age of child, whether dependent children aged 12 years or more are present, whether child attending school, main reason used formal and informal care, number of weekdays of formal and informal care, weekly hours of formal and informal care, cost of formal and informal care, other arrangements, whether additional formal care is required and whether available, main type of additional formal care required, number of days additional formal care required, main reason additional formal care required, main reason additional formal care not used, income of mother and father and language spoken at home.

The file also contains, attached to each statistical record, data on other selected characteristics of the 13,490 sampled children under 12 years of age including state/territory/area of usual residence, family type, age of mother, labour force status of mother and father, weekly hours worked by mother and father and occupation of mother and father obtained from the Monthly Population Survey.


SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING THE USE OF THIS CURF


This CURF is subject to special conditions of use.

In using this CURF your organisation:

  1. "must not attempt to match the information with administrative lists of persons or organisations"

    and/or

  2. "is prohibited from undertaking any analysis involving records of child care providers maintained by Government Agencies"
