(a) An early childhood qualified teacher criteria was applied to long day care preschool.
(b) In the 2010 collection, Victoria and South Australia was not able to collect details on the teacher's qualifications in long day care centres.

Developments are currently underway to increase the coverage for future collection cycles. Enhancements to the Commonwealth's Child Care Management System (CCMS) should enable supply of statistics for preschool programs in Long Day Care (LDC) centres. Although some data was able to be collected from LDCs in some jurisdictions, data from the CCMS will supplement the data already collected in those jurisdictions and be the main source of data for LDCs for other jurisdictions. Work is also underway to collect statistics from non-goverment schools providing preschool programs and will be available in future releases of this publication.
