Using data derived from the ABS Causes of Death collection, this electronic publication provides an update on summary statistics regarding suicides registered in Australia from 1995 to 2005. Data are presented separately by age and sex, by method of suicide, and by state or territory of usual residence. Numbers of deaths, age-specific rates and age-standardised rates for years 1995 to 2005 are shown for comparison.
