Regional population growth figures for local government areas released tomorrow
Estimated Resident Population (ERP) figures for Australia's 624 Local Government Areas will be released tomorrow, Thursday 25 July at 11:30 (EST), in the publication Regional Population Growth, Australia and New Zealand, 1991 to 2001 (cat. no. 3218.0)
Official ERP figures are widely used by government to allocate funding. The figures are also keenly received by town and city councils because they are the most accurate population figures for the Local Government Areas where Australians usually live. By definition, these ERPs differ from the 2001 Census figures released last month.
A media release with some State/Territory summary information will be widely distributed.
Regional and suburban media please note:
The hardcopy publication and media release will be boxed at the Canberra Press Gallery. Interview talent will be available, and contact numbers will listed on the media release.
These documents will be presented in a new window.
