New look web page

The new web pages for the 2006 Census are now available on the ABS web site and can be viewed at www.abs.gov.au by following the Census links.

These new pages have been designed to inform the public and the media about the upcoming Census and will provide such information as:

  • a countdown clock (counting down until Census night)
  • frequently asked questions
  • translated information for ethnic communities, and
  • and other useful Census information.

The web pages will continually be updated both during the lead-up and after Census Night (8 August) with key issues and upcoming events. These will include
  • the opening of the Census Information Service (CIS)
  • announcing the delivery and collection of Census household forms, and
  • the eCensus form, available closer to Census Night.

Data from the previous censuses will continue to be available from these pages as well as updates and information about the release of 2006 data.

Make sure you bookmark the new 2006 Census home page as it will be a valuable resource for all your questions and needs both before and after Census Night.
