The service industries sector is defined as all industries other than goods producing industries (Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, Electricity, gas and water supply, and Construction). In terms of the 1993 edition of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC), service industries cover Wholesale trade, Retail trade, Accommodation, cafes and restaurants, Transport and storage, Communication services, Finance and insurance, Property and business services, Government administration and defence, Education, Health and community services, Cultural and recreational services, and Personal and other services.
