HOUSING FINANCE COMMITMENTS
The number of owner occupied housing commitments in trend estimate terms increased by 12% to 14,385 in February 2007 compared with February 2006.
Since February 1997, the average home loan commitment for owner occupied dwellings in Queensland has more than doubled from $99,100 to $229,600. The commitment for first home buyers ($232,300) was slightly higher than for non first home buyers ($228,900).
