There were an estimated 32,357 farms in Victoria at 30 June 2005.

Beef cattle farming was the most common farming activity with 7,924 farms in Victoria mainly engaged in this activity.

Dairy cattle farming and sheep farming were the next most common activities, and together made up 31% of farms in Victoria.
