NOVEMBER KEY POINTS


ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
  • In original terms, the November 2010 merchandise imports were $19,152m, an increase of $1,486m (8%) on the October 2010 merchandise imports of $17,666m.


PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
  • Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms increased $1,306m (7%). In seasonally adjusted terms goods debits increased $613m (4%) from $17,083m in October 2010 to $17,696m in November 2010. Capital goods rose $314m (8%) with the civil aircraft and confidentialised items component up $343m, intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $260m (4%) with the fuels and lubricants component up $339m (16%), consumption goods rose $52m (1%) and non-monetary gold fell $14m (2%).
