NOTES

ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION

The statistics in this publication relate to government and non-government schools, students and school staff, and were collected through the non-finance National Schools Statistics Collection (NSSC), which was established through the work of the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA). For more detailed information about the structure and scope of the NSSC refer to the Glossary.

In this issue a new indicator measure has been introduced. The Apparent Continuation Rate (ACR) describes the rate at which particular age cohorts of the Australian population are continuing in school education between one year and the next. This data, and earlier years time series, appear in Table 22.

A more extensive range of statistics on schools, students and staff is available as either Supertables, or Excel spreadsheets, on the ABS web site at <URL:http//www.abs.gov.au>.
