      Description
        Provides information on the value of all engineering and construction work undertaken by both private and public sector organisations. This information, together with the information from the Building Activity Survey, provides a complete picture of building and construction activity in Australia.
      Data detail
        Types of construction include:
      • roads
      • bridges
      • railways and tramways
      • harbours
      • water storage and supply
      • sewerage and drainage
      • highways and subdivisions
      • airport runways
      • electricity generation, transmission and distribution
      • pipelines (other than water)
      • recreation (landscaping, swimming pools etc)
      • telecommunications
      • heavy industry (oil, gas, coal etc)

        Data items available are:
      • value of engineering construction work done
      • value of work yet to be done
      • value of commencements

        From 1986. Prior to this, information was available through the Construction (other than building) Survey. From June 1986.
