Businesses with internet access were asked to identify the main type of internet connection used as at the end of June 2010.

Of those businesses with internet access, 97% had broadband as their main connection type and 3% had dial-up/ISDN as their main connection type. There was very little variation by employment size.

Businesses in Information media and telecommunications and Professional, scientific and technical services industries had the highest proportions with broadband connection, while the Agriculture, forestry and fishing industry had the highest proportion for dial-up as the main connection type (8%).
