TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD INTERNET CONNECTION Households with internet access, by type of connection, 2010-11 TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD INTERNET CONNECTION BY STATE OR TERRITORY The Australian Capital Territory continued to record the highest proportion of households with a broadband internet connection (94%). Tasmania had the largest increase in the proportion of households with broadband internet, up 14 percentage points from 2008-09. Households with broadband internet access(a)(b), by State or Territory, 2010-11 TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD BROADBAND CONNECTION Households were asked about the type of broadband connection they had at home. In 2010-11, an estimated 6.2 million households had broadband internet access at home. The most common types of broadband connections were: DSL (used by 62% of households with broadband); mobile broadband (16%); and cable (11%). Main type of household broadband connection(a), 2010-11
