NON-SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS

In 2012 approximately 29% of people with intellectual disability aged 15 years and over reported having a non-school qualification such as a certificate or bachelor degree. In contrast, just under half of those with other types of disability and many of the non-disabled population had a non-school qualification (49% and 59% respectively).

Certificates were the most common type of non-school qualification for people with intellectual disability (21%), other types of disability (24%) and people without disability (21%). People with intellectual disability were less likely to have a Bachelor degree (3%) than people with other types of disability (9%) or people without disability (18%).
