15/2/2013 A new product has been released in this series of international surveys of adult literacy skills, Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), 2011-12. The prose and document literacy scores published in this Survey of Aspects of Literacy (SAL) 1996 publication are not directly comparable to PIAAC. Remodelled scores from SAL will be included in additional datacubes to be appended to the PIAAC publication later in 2013. Refer to the Comparability of Time Series section of the PIAAC Explanatory Notes for further information about comparing SAL data with PIAAC.
