Purpose
To provide information on ship movements (including international ports) of ships visiting Australian ports.

Description
Ship movement data are included in Lloyd's Maritime Information Services database on voyage movements. This collection only includes vessels visiting Australia in each quarter. Data are collected from agents.

Data Detail
Ship data:

  • Vessel;
  • Name;
  • Flag;
  • Year built;
  • Dead weight;
  • Gross tonnage;
  • Type;
  • Subtype;
  • Owner; and
  • Lloyd's number;

Voyage data:
  • Vessel;
  • Movement;
  • Port;
  • Arrival date and qualifiers;
  • Departure date and qualifiers;
  • Visit purpose-pass by, business, repairs; and
  • Last port.

Geographic Coverage
Australia, international ports and ship flag by country.

Frequency of Data Availability
Data are released quarterly.

Historical Data
Data are available from 1993-94.
