2006 Census Form Delivery Begins Today
From today nearly 5,500 Census Collectors will be out across Queensland delivering Census forms to every corner of the state in readiness for Census night on Tuesday 8 August.

The delivery of the Census forms will continue right up until Census day so people shouldn't worry if they don't receive a form straight away.

Collectors will be delivering between 8.30am to 8.30pm on weekdays and from 9am to 8.30pm on weekends.

Queenslanders are being asked to assist the Census Collectors in their work. In particular they can help by restraining dogs.

“People should be aware that all Australian Bureau of Statistics Census Collectors will be wearing an official identification badge (including photograph) and carrying a large, yellow census bag,” said Queensland Census Director, Mr Tony Webb.

“Census Collectors will not enter household premises in the course of their duties, and anyone who is not wearing their identification badge or insists on entering the household is not a Census Collector,” he added.

Census Collectors have been trained to assist and advise householders on filling in Census forms. A booklet entitled "How to complete your Census form" accompanies all Census forms. The booklet includes answers to the most commonly asked questions and also explains the use of the information collected.

For this Census, people have the option of completing their form online - this is called the eCensus. Further information on the eCensus is included in the Census guide.
