Purpose
To provide data on the use of information technology (IT) by Australian businesses, including those engaged in the mining sector.

Description
A survey of a sample of all businesses except those without employees, and those engaged in agriculture, forestry or fishing. In the 2000-01 survey, approximately 15,000 businesses were surveyed.

Data are collected by mail questionnaire.

  • Use of IT by Australian businesses (including use of computers, the Internet, web presence, use of own IT staff or external IT services);
  • Internet activities and web functions; and
  • Internet commerce (includes purchasing and selling via the Internet).
