What are the release plans?


Data from the 2011 Census will be released in two stages. The 2011 Census Dictionary will detail which data items will be available as part of the first data release and those that require more detailed processing that will be included in the second data release.

The key dates for the release of 2011 Census results will be June 2012 (first release) and October 2012 (second release). Exact dates will be specified and advertised in advance.

The data for most products will be based on where people usually live (place of usual residence). Some data will only be available for place of enumeration (where people were on Census night). All data will clearly state which count method has been used in the construction of the results.
