SNAPSHOT ON PERCEPTIONS OF GRAFFITI

  • 1 in 5 Australians believe that graffiti is a social disorder issue in their local area.
  • Young adults (18-24) and the elderly (65 and over) were significantly less likely than adults aged 25-64 to perceive graffiti as a social disorder issue.
  • Graffiti was over twice as likely to be perceived as a social disorder issue in major cities compared to other locations.
  • Persons experiencing personal victimisation or living in a household affected by household crime were significantly more likely to perceive graffiti as a social disorder issue in their local area.
