CDATA 2001 - Your census at work coming soon

You may have noticed that there have been some major additions to the ABS web site recently. Not only is there a substantial amount of data available for free but there is now a separate entry point for all things related to CDATA 2001.

Whether you are interested in viewing the CDATA 2001 brochure, reading the latest Newsletter or corresponding with other users, the CDATA pages of the web site have everything you need. While making your decision on your census data requirements try out the CDATA demonstration. The demonstration provides you with easy to understand examples of
how CDATA can be used in making those important business decisions.

The CDATA 2001 options are currently being developed and are on schedule for release on 26 September 2002. Click here for all the information on CDATA 2001

For those who pre-purchase CDATA 2001 but who have a need for the data earlier than the scheduled release date, you can request a copy of Census Basics.

Census Basics is a data only CD-ROM product containing 2001 Basic Community Profile (BCP) data down to Collection District level, and Digital Boundaries in generic formats. The BCP data are provided in MapInfo Interchange Export
(.mid/.mif) format as are the digital boundaries which are supplied as ‘all points’. For more information contact the National Information and Referral Service on 1300 135 070 or email client.services@abs.gov.au
