Contents >> Chapter 1. The Conceptual Background >> Why Use A Statistical Framework?

8. A statistical framework is integral to the collection of accurate, relevant, reliable and comparable statistics. It provides a logical and comprehensive structure to a field of statistics, promotes the use of standards and classifications, and supports consistent data collection and analysis.

9. A statistical framework allows statistics to be compared in a meaningful way across a given subject area, across sectors, across data sources and across time. It enables data comparability at the state, national and international levels.
