The Migrant Data Matrix

Available from July, the 'Migrant Data Matrix' will provide access to a wide range of ABS data on migrants and ethnicity in one convenient location.

Easily accessed from the Migrant and Ethnicity Theme Page on the ABS web site, the Migrant Data Matrix will provide users with links to data from many different ABS sources. For ease of access, data have been grouped by topics from the ABS framework (see the 'Guide to Migrant Statistical Sources'). By selecting a topic, the user is taken to a table which shows the availability of migrant related data items (e.g. country of birth, language including proficiency in spoken English, year of arrival, citizenship, religious affiliation, ancestry, visa category, etc) found in various ABS surveys and publications. One click will then direct the user to the latest available data.

In addition to providing ready access to data, the Migrant Data Matrix also contains links to detailed information from the data sources themselves as well as definitions for migrant related terms.
