PUBS, TAVERNS AND BARS

The Pubs, taverns and bars industry class consists of businesses mainly engaged in selling alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises (excluding licensed clubs). At the end of June 2001 there were 206 pubs, taverns and bars operating in Tasmania.

The Clubs (hospitality) industry class consists of organisations mainly providing hospitality services to members. Thus, clubs whose main activity is the provision of sporting services are excluded. At the end of June 2001, there were 150 hospitality clubs operating in Tasmania.
